Archos 9 is out now and you may have noticed that it's 1.1Ghz Atom with slow HDD and Windows 7 isn't that fast.. No worries as you can swap the HDD quite easily to fast SSD.
As you can see, it needs to be 1.8 inch PATA ZIF SSD.
Judging by these pics there is not much more to modify inside it but it's always fun too see how they look inside...

Nice look inside, thanks for the pictures. This device could be fun with a fast SSD but is that enough for Win7 and fluid working? And its PATA not SATA. It costs 500 Euro and then that.
I have to think about buying one or not.
When will we see the dissection of the T91? :-)

yes, there is SIM card slot.. and no modem...
Archos has said they will have a 3G version but they have said that about many other products too.. without delivering.
if it's easy to install an ssd in the archos 9 i would buy it.JKK how many months do you serve in the finnish army?thanx.
Well its really a very nice device. I can use it for my calling purpose. I can't believe that win 7 is using in these sets. If its true than its really a very good news for me. I just love to use win 7.
Man am I late to reply to this...but if your still there JKK, you planning on getting it and modding 3G in it if it's possible? I would love to get one with 3G and mod it myself.
Have been using Archos 9 for three days now and it is the most painful pc experience ever. This tablet is so slow at everything whether installing software or browsing it is really bad. You Tube and other web video goes at about 10 fps and is jerky as hell. The hdd constantly whirs away and the cpu very rarely drops below 60% usage even when you are doing nothing.
I am going to send back as its just not good enough t0 use.
