Is there a download available for enthusiasts? Can you change the shortcuts on the dock?

This thing is supposed to weigh in at around 35mb so I am VERY interested in dual booting with this and XP on my Eee 701. Perhaps leaving it on an sd card or something.

Trash.

It looks like Linux kernel + VGA & NET drivers + Chrome. Would be nice to have access to console to make some changes/addons.
Wouldn't call this a 'cloud OS'... That way Windows is a cloud OS since IE 4.0 ;)

So when this will be available and is it going to bee freely distributed or only for OEMs?

as fast as oryginal linpus on aspire one but it sucks and ubuntu 8.10 with custom kernel i hope cloud will work better

Chrome + google gears and you've got:

google docs, google reader, rememberthemilk, zohomail offline.

Great! I hope that this will be out as a download, rather than already with a UMPC this would alow us all to use it

Looks very interesting. Perfect for Netbooks, UMPC's ..

Very small system spec requirements too

i don't understand how it work to load drivers for connectivity such wifi, lan, webcam, speaker. every single net/lap/notebook/pc have different chip manufactures. although it using kernel linux used general/standard driver?..hm... it still big kernel i'm suppose, unless it can be custom made per machine.

The full version of gOS 3 Gadgets isn't bad either. Its easily my favorite linux/ubuntu variant distro given I'm very tied into many of Google's apps.

My only gripe ironically is the boot time. :/

That´s a very interesting ... well, OS!?
You can not call it Browser, because it´s much more than that. But I think the most user will feel it being nothing else than a browser...

Do you know something about the "typical" google-data-hoarding?

Anyway, it´s apity that there is now download link yet...

may i know where to download
or other similar kind of gos cloud ( fast boot up )
system , to recommend and thank

it wont be available to download till january 09 i dont think, people please dont miss the point gos cloud is just designed to be a quick way to access the web, access your e-mail wihtout having to wait for your full os to boot up. as u can see in the video it starts up really quick and shutsdown really quick which is great if ur on the move with ur netbook and just want to check a e-mail or adjust a doc in google docs. i do believe gos cloud will be available to download and use with any netbook from the site but cant confirm that. the question im interested in is how does it compare to the asus splashtop expressgate ?
