" OQO, Inc. announces the new model 2+ with the Intel® Atom™ processor, the world’s first PC OLED display, and worldwide 3G capability. Based on the 1.86GHz Intel Atom processor and 2GB RAM, the OQO model 2+ offers performance up to twice as fast as its predecessor and includes an embedded touchscreen for easier input. "
Great news! I was hoping for a smaller housing but it looks like it's the same design with better hw.
Touchscreen is much better than the old active digitizer and OLED should look great.
Now let's just wait for the final details and pricing..

Nice. But the price im sure will not be this great.
I wonder if the battery will last more than 3 hours ...
OLED display...its perfect, but not gonna be cheap :S
OQO is always expensive... but one step foward.
I can´t await for final details (storage, OS, etc).
JKK, try to get one... and make some competition... you know... WE WANT IT!!!!!
1024 x 600 yet?
it's still way too big
The price needs to come down! At least all the peripheral accessories should be compatible with the model 02 and the model 02+.
For now, I plan to keep my model 02. I just can't justify spending that amount of $ for that type of upgrade.
What a good news .... let's hope all accessories will be compatible.. (batteries, DVD, poweradapter, etc..)
It's going the first time in my life I will be able to keep accessories over 3 générations of PC..
OQO has the perfect UMPC formfactor the keybord and mouse are a charm .. just screen touch was not convinient .. and a lack of power for some large spreadsheet ....
WOW! Sounds like a nearly perfect device! :D
Only the price will be a problem I think...
OLED is awesome, other MIDs with it should appear soon for sure.
finally an atom based oqo! i've held out on an oqo all this time due to battery life limitations so i suspect that this can now give me at least 5 hours.
the oled version will be at least $3000 since oled's are still way too expensive to make.
OLED should help the battery life a bit. In other words, manufacturers can shrink the batteries again...
Yeah,to end up with the same crappy battery life again...
Small OLED's aren't that expensive anymore. The OQO 2+ will be expensive either way.
If it costs this much (>1k for sure) for such a product, I would rather spend my money somewhere else. I mean, for the same price I can get a ultra portable laptop with LED and such. Also, it is too big for its category.
OLED... I'm a little weary of this. OLEDisplays have the tendency to be near useless in sunlight (even in the car) unless its brightness is cranked up. I'd want to look at one in person and see someone include this factor into their reviews when the demo units arrive *hinthint*.
I'll probably wait on a slimmer body anyways...
