i wondering , if i using HP HS2300 broadband modem ( oem by MC8775 ) , HP bios will allow or blocked ?
On the video i test MC8775 ... was blocked.. but HP version might work..

I'm in the New York City area of the states. Does the Novatel EU850D play nice with any carries in my area? I already use AT&T for my phone service.
You need to spill the beans on what SSD you've put in the 1000, because based on your boot up time in the video your definitely not using the stock SSD. Enough teasing already :)
Nice work JKK, but i was wodering why not put the G3 modem not in the other PCIe slot ( where the wireless is? ) it probably will not fit, but its nice to know.

Can't you just obtain a BIOS image from a mini that was shipped with a 3G card to unlock the slot? I looked on the HP site and I only see one BIOS version available for download.
Does anyone know if the EU870D modem will work with a at&t U.S. sim card?
I just bought a HP branded mc87775. I should recieve it in a few days. I will post the results once i install it.
Bios lock on HPs is done by device IDs. There is a predefined list of IDs in the bios. So there will not be another bios version for WWAN enables minis.

Ravic, Let us know if the hp branded mc87775 worked? I have the model from Best buy and I would like to add WWAN card inside without cutting anything up in the netbook. Somebody should have a step by step instructions on the bios hack that is easy to do? or is there a list of compatable WWAN cards?
JKK, I'm from a WCDMA/UMTS/HSDPA country. My 2530p already have the sim slot. Can I use the HS2300 with my sim?
If not, can I use the UN2400 with my sim?

my OQO has no ev-do verizon, and not a slot listing, you may send me an outline of how it attacks the Sierra card, or explain how to attack with all the welds to be done? thanks

mc8775 (HP OME) is selling very cheap on ebay now. just got 1 with usd90 locked.. then unlock with d-unlocker. i'm thinking of buying a hp mini 1000. OEM HP mc8775 work through the bios? ravic can u confirm?

jkk, would it be possible to cut the USB_D+, USB_D- lines and rewire them to one of the USB ports, so the BIOS would not think its connected to the internal slot?

Fujitsu 6520 has two version, one with 3G and other one without 3G. I have the one without the 3G. However, when I found that a Empty Mini PCI-e Slot inside the Laptop and there is also a SIM slot accessiable from Battery opening. I know the empty Mini PCI-e slot is actaully used to host a Sierra HSDPA Card in the model that supports 3G since my friend has one of that.
So, I opened my HP Mini 1012 and removed the QualComm HSDPA Card and inserted this in my Fujitsu 6520. But interestingly, nothing happens. Windows Vista cannot find any new installed hardware. Any advice ???
