Wow! This is good news!
New Asus Eee PC 901 in France has high capacity cells and really fast 16GB SSD.
8700mAh 6 cell will give easy 7 to 8 hours on real use...
..and that SSD speed is super!
Right now we don't have info if this is France only and XP only, but we will keep our eyes open.

Oh, please, we a similar "upgrade" to the 1000 model as well!
Wow. That approaches the write speeds of the 900HA hard drive, and totally destroys the read speeds of any other Eee product, HDD or SSD. Nice.
Is this a single fast 16GB SSD, or just one fast 4GB primary SSD and a slow 12GB secondary SSD?

How can i differentiate "this" 901 from "usual" 901?
in italy they have the 901Go Telecome Italia Mobile (TIM) with the Single SSD 16gb

that same price thant normal EEEPC 901 (399€), but you could see in Germany that the push out the older revsion for 299€. In france the 1000H is 399€ (370€) / 900A 299€ and Samsung NC10 370€ -399€

Really? Ami misreading something, becuase on the website it says
"After investigating the battery of new 901 is equipped with 3 cells Panasonic high-end "NCR18650": 3 cells only, but so what cells compared to those usually used. With a rated voltage of 3.6 V for a capacity of 2900 mAh, these cells are extremely powerful...3 x 2900 mAh 3.6 V in 8700 gives mAh with a voltage of 8.7 volts, a total much better than the 6600 mAh battery 7.4 volts of existing EeePC 901."
So confuse... Is this 901 GO version with 3G capability? It's only single SSD? Where slave SSD? it batter have primary and secondary SSD I'm suppose...?!?
Wow... is the battery the same weight/size, and is it the same connector as the old 901/1000? I'd love to get an aftermarket 8700mAh battery that doesn't increase the bulk of my 1000H.

It is really starting to cheese me off that ASUS has all these different models and features for all the countries in Europe. What is so hard with one model for the continent? That and all these new models coming out almost weekly. It's like they want to purposely give people buyer's remorse.
With that battery its operating time would be great instead of just good.
I may have to change my 900A to one of those - again. :(

the battery pho clerly shows voltrage == 7,2V and capacity == 8,7Ah,
be it zero cell of hundred cells, we don't really care at all ! what matters is the Watt x Hour (Wh) rating.
Okay, so the MDD SLC drives for the Dell Mini 9 supposedly use Samsung flash chips but don't come anywhere near these numbers. How come?

What could be better is it also included 3G sim card slot for mobile broadband. Why only improve a bit here and there and expect user to yearn to upgrade when loaded with an earlier model. What is ASUS trying to do? Why couldn't ASUS follow ACER strategies just two models of ACER ASPIRE ONE with and without hard disk drive?

Hey, does anyone know if this one is avaiable in Spain?
I'm totally confused. I'm in Canada and the 901 I'm looking at has a 12GB SSD Windows XP. Tiger Direct is selling the black one for 449CDN$ and about 100$ more for white (?). So is this a single SSD? How can I tell what the online retailer is selling?
here in Japan I just got the 'new' 901 and it came with the 16 ssd but only a 6600mAh battery.
I wonder if can claim for a refund because there seems no way that it will get anywhere near the advertised 8-9 hours... I get around 5 at max, even with brightness on low settings and in power saving mode...
