wow, lenovo is actually changing there style. it would be cool to see the thinkpad style on a netbook.
i wouldnt mind not having the childish looking netbook skins.. although i love my 901 white
thinkpad no, ideapad yes
put the atom in their U110 and sell it for 400$
how hard does it take for them to figure this magic formula out?
Is it the same keyboard exactly? or does it just appear so as it does in the video?
Very cool...
Ideapad s10

I had my doubts - that whole summer sleigh ride event in NYC that was mentioned in the YouTube video information, all of the links on the internet that mention that point back to the YouTube video.
Until the PC Magazine article popped up, I figured it was probably the real deal, but just that somebody was covering their tracks on where the video was taken.
Nice find on the video, btw.
Nice, very nice... Does RAM soldered to motherboard?
Nice netbook. But a TrackPoint (especially from Lenovo) would have been be nicer than a pad...
I really don't understand whats with the 10" for USA and 8.9" for the rest of the world? MSI is doing it and now Lenovo too? I really don't get it!
well isn't everything in the USA bigger, the buildings, the cars, the people (well fatter).
>>>I really don't understand whats with the 10" for USA and 8.9" for the rest of the world?
10" = secondary computer
8.9" = primary low-cost computer
Also, it seems 10" screen brings with it a keyboard that's *usable* (sorry, jkk's 901!).
>>>the people (well fatter).
ROTF in America.
U110's keyboard I found awful. Hope this will have better (have yet to see vid...)
Oh, that keyboard looks better. Keys have edges, not all flat like the U110. But the SD won't sit flush with the edge?!
Pretty awesome spec, let's hope it wouldn't be some kinda of marketing stuffs and then when it's time for launch they slap you 5 or 6 hundred bucks for it.
btw gizmodo have some really great pictures about the s10

I wouldn't be surprised if the S10 comes in at ~$550 US with a 3-cell battery. Don't worry about the marketing hype -- both of the "leaders" in the netbook segment came in above the price they were "targeting" in the pre-release promotional information. In a way it's bait-and-switch, but from my experience with my wife's Lenovo 15.4" ThinkPad, I'd pay a premium for Lenovo quality in a netbook.
NO TOUCHSCREEN? WTF? WHY DO THEY CALL IT AN "idea pad" if you can't draw or write, or do anything creative with it? LAMEEEEEEEEE
forget touch screen. no bluetooth listed in specs on lenovo site. i'll be happy with wireless n or bluetooth. 1gb of ram should be standard at that price $430. 512kb soldered on board + one slot. 2gb is the most the chipset will take. old gma 950 video. the "upgraded" 1gb ram and 160gb hd will be released in the states... next year? lenovo is late. others already released their netbooks in time before school starts. how long does it take to make this crap. and what's with the colors??? give me a solid matte color finish. lighted keypad would be nice but that will add another $50 and nobody will buy this overpriced 4 year old technology.
MSI wind looks better for me... with 3 USB port
