Whoa. But the 901 with 30GB HD would be better. Off to read your post about that now.
Holy crap. To many models Asus!
I wander if they still have 4GB high speed SSD onboard? If os boot from 1.8" hard disk then is will be slower.
No way will they put a 4gb SSD on as well as the hard drive, that would be way to expensive, and pointless to be honest.
buddled is cheaper than buying the HD on top of the EEE's cost.
You can buy 16gb sd cards for around 70 bucks right now, in 6 months it'll be 32gb... surely a 30gb hdd is a waste of time given the value of solid state in a portable device. Ah well if Asus can sell them, more power to them I say.
When I first saw the picture of this entry I was hoping it was some news on the 903... Anyone got a clue as to when it's going to be released? It hasn't even been announced officially yet, right?
mmm beer
i need to know soon (special price offer):
does the normal eeepc 900 support a 1.8" HDD (ZIF) ?
sorry, but no. "normal" 900 doesn't support 1.8 inch drives
Thanks answering the previous question on 1.8" drive support not being available on the 900 series. I was also thinking about taking advantage of the rebate Asus has on the 900 and doing the hard drive upgrade that you had on your great instructional video. Thanks for not letting me waste my time. On that topic do you happen to know if the 1000 series supports 1.8" drives? Also in your video you used a cable to connect the drive but is it really necessary because it looks like the 1.8" Samsung SSD would slip right in without the cable. Thanks for all your great information and help videos, your information is far above the stupid EeePC user forums. Asus should put you on their payroll!!
hmm... would it be easy to add the 30G HDD into the 'normal' 900 then?
